Depending on which nickname you decide to use, the state capital of Louisiana is NOLA, the Big Easy, the City that Care Forgot or, simply, Nawlins. The New Orleans Saints is Nawlins' NFL professional football team. The team had a run of bad luck in the 1980s. Things were so bad, fans were seen on television to be seen wearing paper bags on their heads. By 2009, the team had recovered sufficiently to win the Super Bowl, NFL football's championship game. Investors are currently investigating the feasibility of forming a major league soccer team in the Big Easy.

The local basketball team is called the Pelicans. They occupy the Southwest Division in the Western Conference. The team temporarily relocated after being forced to flee the city in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Once the necessary repairs had been carried out, the team was repatriated in time for the 2007-2008 season.

New Orleans also has an Arena League Football team, which was established in 2004. They have two mascots, named Bones and Mojo. The team also has a cheerleading squad called the Voo Doo Dolls.

NOLA is a frequent target for hurricanes. In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck with a vengeance. A terrifying storm with a Category 5 rating, Katrina was in the top five most menacing hurricanes to strike a United States Coast. It was the seventh most devastating storm on record in the Atlantic. Deep tissue massage is a form of therapy that concentrates on reaching the deep layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is most often used for people with chronic aches and pains. The treatment realigns the deeper tissues in the lower and upper back, shoulders and leg muscles. Many of the same strokes that are used in conventional massage therapy are used in this specialized form of manipulation therapy.

When the muscles become stressed, the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues becomes blocked. Toxins build up and trigger an inflammatory response that causes pain. Manipulating the muscles frees the toxins and unblocks the flow of oxygen and nutrients, allowing them to freely flow to the tissues where they are required. Staying hydrated is important so you are advised to drink loads of water before and after your appointment.
